Oscars-2016

Today is the big night. The 89th  Academy Awards will take place in Los Angeles to celebrate the best actresses and actors and the best act in the movie industry judged by the Academy itself.

Last year the Academy Awards was judged so white by many actors and actresses  of color. In fact they were absent or the podium. The #OscarsSoWhite were the one leading the hashtags during that night.

This year is a little bit different. There are many movies with black actors and there are many black actresses and actors nominated by the Academy Awards.

The movie La La Land has a remarquable start with 14 nominations including best actor, best actress, director of the year and picture of the year. Those are some of the famous and most envied categories.

La La Land is not the only movie of course with many nominations. There is also 13 th from Ava Duvernay , the documentary OJ Made in America.

We will be watching our favourite actors and actresses Denzel Washington, Viola Davis Naomie Harris, ruth Negga, Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monae, Mahershala Ali, Dev Patel. We think that the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite won’t be the most tagged word of the night, because of what is going on with the politics, the fact that we want to believe that the Academy Awards has learned from its mistakes.
