Actress Jada Pinkett Smith announced that she will boycott the Academy Awards ceremony. She shared a video on social medias announcing that she won’t be part of the event.
Like last edition in 2015, the Academy Awards is accused of racism. None of the black movies which hit the nig screen last year are banned.
Producer Spike Lee announced that he’s joining Jada Pinket Smith boycoytt. Many actors are joining Jada Pinkett Smith boycott.
Th Academy Awards exists from 1929 to now. And from 1929 to 2015, only 1,2% represented african american Oscars winners. Even if they do movies, even if they are great actors, even if they realized movies, black actors and artists are under represented.
The members of the Academy Awards are white. They represent almost 6000. They have the power because they make the votes. And only 6% of the votants are not white. 2% of them are black and 2% are latinos.
